TRAVELLING IN A LOCAL BUS

Have you ever travelled in a local bus? If you have then welcome to the gang if you haven't, then your parents should meet my parents. My mom says the reason she makes me travel by bus is so that I can learn to be independent (truth is she wants to save petrol and her time)
But the only thing I've learnt from travelling by bus is how to maintain my body balance in a rocking bus and to fight  for my change (the struggle to find  five rupee coins is real) .

Travelling in a local bus is tiring you have to sit or worse stand through the noise, the sweaty people, the  constant elbowing and the stares (it makes you feel like an alien ).
If you're  an inquisitive person and like to eavesdrop the local bus is the best place to be, you get to hear the most interesting conversations and if you're lucky enough you may get to listen to the climax  before the person gets off the bus.

You wanna meet the rule breakers of our generation walk into a local bus . The sign clearly reads 11 standing but the ' rules are not my thing' conductors will fill the bus untill one person threatens to leave. And then there are the adults, sometimes it's fine to accept the fact that you're 'not young anymore' and take the damn seat offered to you. Arguing with youngsters and refusing to sit isn't going to make you feel younger and  anyway they get a point for doing a good deed .

Travelling by a local bus is like travelling by a local train except there are jerks - the people version as well as the one caused by sudden movements .  The people version of jerk, well they do what they do best - they behave like jerks. The sudden movement jerk which are worse BTW (learnt this the hard way) can send you flying into someone's stomach or worse someone's armpit .

Some bus drivers try all they can to make the passengers feel... Comfortable-ish. They play the most cringy-est music and have the dingy-est lights and give the most creepy-est stares and then when you leave they look at you with this big smile that says "do visit again".

The joy of sitting in an empty bus is beyond comparison but the horrorific feeling in the pit of your stomach when you see people flooding in to disrupt your peace  is something you need to experience to understand. The struggle of pushing through the crowd saying  20 "excuse me's"  and " sorry's" per minute while you estimate the time  you take to reach the door to get down at your stop is a real challenge. But once you get down from that overpopulated tin on wheels and you feel the fresh air on your face and  can finally feel your muscles it's an unexplainable joy.

So if you haven't travelled by bus yet I suggest you do ,because once you do, you will cherish every comfortable air conditioned car ride you've ever had.
